How it works
1. Check the pit and the pump
Pit size and condition, inflow, discharge line, check valve, float travel, pump age and whether the current unit is sized right. Many failures are the float, not the pump.
2. Recommend and price
Repair, replace or add backup, with a price before work starts and a plain explanation of why.
3. Install and test with water
The pump is run through full cycles with water in the pit, the check valve and discharge confirmed, and the alarm on a backup system tested.
